Our Littlest One's Quinceanera

This past year has flown by and before our littlest child graduates from high school, I thought I better blog her quinceanera. We celebrated a beautiful and meaningful mass at our parish church, St. Leo’s Mission in Solana Beach, that was followed with a party at our home in Cardiff. I am not sure how we did it, but we managed to fit 160 guests throughout the garden and house and even had room for a dance floor.

Ana had a vision... She wanted to wear a light grey full tulle skirt with a lace blouse. She looked so pretty and happy with a smile on her face all day long. She also wanted the flowers to have a natural garden feel with lots of garden greens, herbs and white ruffled blooms. “Let’s use those heavy iron urns from work and lots and lots of candles” she said. Proving that the apple doesn’t fall very far from the tree. Garden greens, herbs, textures and nubbins are the best. I have to say... that one has a definite sense of her own classic style.

It took a village to make it happen. Our dear friend and coordinator extraordinaire Merilee Hennings from Ever After Events, kept us organized and on task throughout the planning process. We really were able to just relax and take in the day without having to worry about a thing. Merilee handled everything for us. Concept Event Design provided the linens, tables and chairs that Ana picked  out... It was fun to watch her vision come to life and to see what she gravitated towards. Dennis Bergstrom From B'ntertained managed to mix country, pop, old rock and roll and traditional ranchero music into a playlist that kept the dance floor full and the guests happy. CC Vintage Rentals worked their magic and transformed our driveway into a living room and with the amount of guests we had, we needed every square inch of seating and lounging we could come up with! Michele Coulon provided everyone of Ana’s favorite cakes. We had cake for days... yum! And a Gomez party just wouldn’t be the same without Casa D'El Taco. It was a day filled with celebration at its best - gathering friends and family for good conversation, laughter, delicious food, music, and dancing that was all captured by the talented First & Orange. I can't get enough of the images from the special day!
